Enter the input power (watts) and the efficiency (%) into the calculator to determine the Output Power.

Output Power Formula

The following formula is used to calculate the Output Power.

Po = Pi * E/100
  • Where Po is the Output Power (watts)
  • Pi is the input power (watts)
  • E is the efficiency (%)

To calculate the output power, multiply the input power by the efficiency.

How to Calculate Output Power?

The following two example problems outline how to calculate the Output Power.

Example Problem #1:

  1. First, determine the input power (watts). In this example, the input power (watts) is measured to be 502.
  2. Next, determine the efficiency (%). For this problem, the efficiency (%) is calculated to be 20.
  3. Finally, calculate the Output Power using the formula above:

Po = Pi * E/100

Inserting the values from above and solving the equation with the imputed values gives:

Po = 502 * 20/100 = 100.4 (watts)

Example Problem #2:

Using the same process as example problem 1, we first define the variables outlined by the formula. In this case, the values are:

input power (watts) = 100

efficiency (%) = 20

Entering these values into the formula or calculator above gives us::

Po = 100 * 20/100 = 20 (watts)
