Total eligible scoring weights in a table shuffleboard Knock-Off frame and update a game played to 15 or 21 points.
Table Shuffleboard Frame Formula
Frame points = 1 × one-point weights + 2 × two-point weights + 3 × three-point weights + 4 × end hangers.
Identify Eligible Weights Before Counting
Choose the team with scoring weights after every weight has stopped and both sides agree on the positions. Only that team’s weights beyond the opponent’s furthest legal weight may score. A weight’s numbered zone alone cannot establish eligibility: two opposing weights can occupy the same zone while only one lies farther toward the scoring end.
Enter the Counts for the Scoring Team
Count eligible weights worth one, two, three, or four points. A player or team has four weights, so the combined count must be between one and four when A or B is selected. Do not enter the opponent’s zone total for subtraction. Knock-Off is a positional scoring game, and subtracting two raw zone totals would apply the wrong method.
When a Frame Has No Score
Select no scoring weights when no weight is eligible after the final ruling. The counts then disappear and the prior totals remain unchanged. A dead heat between opposing weights excludes those tied weights; only weights farther ahead of that tie can still be eligible. This calculator expects the physical comparison to be resolved before you choose the scoring team.
Assign the Correct Zone Value
Use the value established by the board position and the applicable rules. A weight must completely cross the next scoring line to take the higher value. An end hanger extends over the scoring end and is worth four; merely overhanging a side rail does not make it a four-point end hanger. The calculator adds your agreed values and does not measure the puck’s position.
Worked Example
Suppose A has an eligible end hanger and an eligible two-point weight, while every other A weight is blocked by B’s furthest weight or is out of play. Enter one four-point weight and one two-point weight. The frame total is 4 + 2 = 6. If A started on ten, the new A total is 16; that reaches a 15-point target but not a 21-point target. B’s score does not change.
Game Targets and Prior Scores
Choose 15 or 21 points to match the agreed format. Prior scores must be below the target because an already completed game should not receive another ordinary frame. The result can exceed the target; it is not capped and there is no exact-score rollback. Negative handicap starting scores, penalties, and other formats require their own recordkeeping and are not represented by these fields.
Use the Result as a Frame Record
The supporting rows show the entered counts, awarded frame points, and points still needed. Repeated Calculate clicks recompute this one scenario without adding the frame twice. Copy the updated totals into the prior-score fields for the next frame. This tool does not assign hammer, resolve disputed measurements, or replace the game’s official score record.
Reference Table
| Eligible weights | Frame total | If prior total is 10 |
|---|---|---|
| One 3-point weight | 3 | 13 |
| One 4-point and one 2-point weight | 6 | 16 |
| Two 3-point and one 1-point weight | 7 | 17 |
| Four end hangers | 16 | 26 |
| No eligible weights | 0 | 10 |
