The calculator totals takedowns, escapes, reversals, near-fall awards, manual penalty or technical awards, and the ruleset-specific five-point near fall or riding-time point.
How the Calculation Works
For each wrestler, T is the takedown count, E escapes, R reversals, N total awarded near-fall points, P penalty points awarded to that wrestler, and A the entered NCAA riding-time point (0 in NFHS). Near-fall inputs count awards, not seconds. A single NFHS 5-point award must not also be counted as a 4-point award.
How to Use This Calculator

Interpreting the Result
Without a terminal result, the output is a provisional point reconstruction and score-margin range. A 1–7 point final margin is the decision range, 8–14 the major-decision range and 15 or more the technical-fall range. The official match-ending rules and scoring chronology still control.
Assumptions and Limitations
The subtotal is provisional and cannot reproduce officiating judgment, correction windows, special penalty sequences, overtime administration, or every terminal-result circumstance. NCAA women’s freestyle scoring is outside this tool.
Common Questions
Which fields change with the scoring preset?
NFHS provides the specific 5-point near-fall award. NCAA men’s folkstyle provides the manually entered 0/1 riding-time point. Inapplicable inputs are omitted from that preset’s calculation, and values return when switching back.
