NCAA Men’s Wrestling Riding Time Formula or Method
The smaller riding-time total is subtracted from the larger. A net advantage of at least one minute qualifies the leading wrestler for one riding-time point when the rules permit it to be awarded.
How the Calculation Works
Convert each wrestler’s total from the same applicable riding-time interval to seconds: 60 × whole minutes + seconds. A and B are those totals. Compare the absolute difference with 60 seconds; exactly 1:00 reaches the threshold.

Interpreting the Result
Reaching the threshold does not award the point immediately. Apply the official regulation or overtime endpoint and any required clock reset. Additional net seconds assume the opponent’s recorded total remains unchanged.
Assumptions and Limitations
This calculator is limited to NCAA men’s folkstyle riding time. Official timing, special overtime resets, scoring corrections, and the referee or scorer control the match result.
Common Questions
Can I enter 60 in the seconds field?
No. Carry each complete 60 seconds into the minutes field. For example, enter 2 minutes and 0 seconds for 120 seconds. The retained input range is 0–20 whole minutes and 0–59 seconds per wrestler; it is not an official match-length limit.
