Estimate conventional-bike commute calories per trip and across a work schedule, or solve the one-way distance needed for a calorie target.
How the Commuting By Bike Calorie Calculator Works
One-way distance and average speed determine trip time. The self-selected work-commute activity value or a documented speed-band value then drives the MET equation and recurring schedule totals.
Formula: gross kcal per trip = cycling MET x 3.5 x body weight in kg / 200 x trip minutes
What the Results Show
The calculator reports one-way and daily calories, active calories, weekly, monthly, and annual totals, time, distance, and MET-minutes. Target mode solves one-way distance.
Why This Calculator Is Different
This is a recurring conventional-bike work-schedule calculator. Motor assistance is deliberately handled by the separate E-Bike Ride calculator.
Assumptions and Limitations
Traffic stops, coasting, wind, elevation, cargo, and route conditions are not separate coefficients. The self-selected commute option is the safest default when speed does not match a documented band.
