Calculate DFS value as fantasy points per $1,000 of salary, or find the points a player needs, or the salary that fits, for a target value like 5x.
DFS Value Formula and Method
Points per 1,000 = projected points × 1,000 ÷ salary
A value multiple expresses fantasy points per thousand platform salary units. It allows a salary of 6,000 and a thirty-point projection to be described as 5 points per thousand. Salaries here are contest budget units and do not represent cash winnings or the entry fee.
How to Use This Calculator
Select the result and any applicable method before entering the visible values. The selected unknown is calculated from the remaining quantities; change Solve for to rearrange the relationship. Review the primary result and its breakdown, then open the calculation steps to see how the inputs were used.
Worked Example
With the example inputs in the table, the result is 5 points / 1,000 salary units. Use a points projection that follows the same contest scoring as the salary.
Input and Example Guide
| Input or category | Example or weight | Entry guidance |
|---|---|---|
| Player salary (platform salary units) | 6000 | Use the stated unit; retain available precision. |
| Projected fantasy points (points) | 30 | Use the stated unit; retain available precision. |
| DFS salary value | 5 points / 1,000 salary units | Calculated result for the entered example. |
Interpreting the Result
Use projections scored under the same contest rules as the salary list. Inverse modes find the points needed at a target multiple or the salary consistent with entered points and value. A high ratio alone does not account for roster construction, position requirements, correlation, ownership or the variance of a player’s outcome.
This is a single-player ratio. It does not build lineups, estimate ownership, enforce roster rules or guarantee contest returns.
Assumptions and Common Input Errors
Use a points projection that follows the same contest scoring as the salary. Use credited records rather than mixing estimates with final totals. A blank field is not treated as zero; enter zero explicitly when it is a valid observation.
Saving and Revising a Scenario
A successful calculation is saved in this browser and can be restored on the next visit. Editing an input retains the previous result with an explicit warning until Calculate is selected again. Reset clears the inputs and this calculator’s saved result.
