Calculate a women’s Development Program or Xcel team meet total by entering each event’s posted scores and choosing how many of the highest scores count.
Gymnastics Team Counting-Score Method
For each event, the calculator sorts the entered routine scores from highest to lowest, adds the selected number of counting scores, and then sums the event totals.
How the Calculation Works
The calculator applies the displayed scoring, summation, or energy relationship to the visible required inputs.
How to Use This Calculator
- Keep the listed result selected in the Solve for menu.
- Enter or select every visible required input.
- Select Calculate and review the result and supporting breakdown.
- Use Reset before starting a new routine or scenario.
Worked Example
When three scores count, event totals of 27.700 on vault, 27.400 on bars, 27.450 on beam, and 27.700 on floor produce a 110.250 team total.
Input and Result Guide
| Item | How to use it |
|---|---|
| Women's four events | Enter vault, uneven-bars, balance-beam, and floor-exercise posted scores. |
| Scores to count | Use the exact N published for the meet; at least N valid scores must be entered for every event. |
| Routine-score lists | Separate 0-to-10 scores with commas, spaces, semicolons, or line breaks. |
| Dropped scores | The calculator shows how many valid scores were entered and how many did not count. |
| Team total | Add only the per-event counting subtotals produced under one consistent meet format. |
Interpreting the Result
A counting-score total is useful only when the correct meet format and N are selected. The event breakdown shows where a team's counted total was strongest and whether extra scores were dropped.
Assumptions and Limitations
USA Gymnastics permits meet-specific counting methods, so this calculator deliberately does not assume top three, all-but-one, or another universal N. It does not apply lineup limits, resolve team ties, replace missing routines, or determine whether a score is official. Confirm the current meet information and enter posted final scores only.
Common Questions
Why is there only one Solve for option?
This tool has one defined output. The selector keeps the workflow consistent with other Calculator Academy calculators.
Will my last successful calculation be restored?
Yes. The calculator saves enabled source values and the successful result in this browser. Reset clears that saved state.
