Gymnastics D + E Scoring Formula
In open-ended artistic gymnastics scoring, the difficulty jury builds the D score, the execution score starts from 10 and reflects execution deductions, and neutral deductions are then removed from the combined total.

Worked Example
A routine with a 5.400 D score, an 8.200 E score, and 0.300 in neutral deductions finishes at 13.300 points: 5.400 + 8.200 − 0.300 = 13.300.

Interpreting the Result
A higher final score can come from greater recognized difficulty, cleaner execution, or fewer neutral deductions. The three components should be reviewed separately before drawing conclusions about a routine.
Assumptions and Limitations
This calculator performs the published arithmetic; it does not judge skills, average an E-panel, identify short-exercise penalties, calculate vault averages, or determine which elements receive credit. Domestic, collegiate, compulsory, rhythmic, trampoline, and other programs can use different components or rules.
